These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and the purchase of any products or subscriptions from Second Bloom Books (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Second Bloom Books is a UK-based small business offering curated book boxes featuring preloved books and bookish items.

2. Eligibility

By using this website, you confirm that you are:

• At least 18 years old, or

• Using the site with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Products & Services

We sell:

• One-off book boxes 

• Monthly subscription book boxes

All books are preloved and may show signs of previous use. Any noticeable wear will be checked before packing to ensure acceptable quality.

Product descriptions and images are provided for guidance only. Exact contents may vary.

4. Subscriptions

By purchasing a subscription:

• You agree to recurring monthly payments at the stated price

• Payments will be automatically charged unless cancelled

• You may cancel your subscription at any time before the next billing date. If you cancel after your billing date, the cancellation will roll forward to the next box.
  Just drop us a message stating your wish to cancel.
  If you wish to pause your subscription or switch box types, this is also no trouble, just message us!

5. Pricing & Payments

• All prices are listed in GBP (£)

• Prices include applicable UK taxes unless stated otherwise

• Shipping costs are free to the UK

• We reserve the right to change prices at any time (this will not affect existing subscriptions until renewal)

Payments are processed securely through our website payment provider.

6. Shipping

• We currently ship within the UK and to some international countries. 

• International Orders: Orders shipped outside of the UK will incur import VAT and may incur customs duties and carrier handling fees, which are the responsibility of the customer. These charges apply to each delivery. By placing an order, you agree to pay all applicable import charges. If a shipment is refused or abandoned due to unpaid fees, no refund will be issued.

• Shipping times are estimates and not guaranteed

• We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services once an order has been dispatched

Risk of loss passes to you once your order has been delivered. If your box has not been received within 7 days of your dispatch email, please contact us.

7. Cancellations, Returns & Refunds

Our full Refund Policy can be found on our website and forms part of these Terms.

In summary:

• You may cancel your subscription before your next billing date for that box. If after, it will apply to the following box.

• No refunds are offered once a box has been dispatched

• Subscription renewals are non-refundable once billed

• Damaged or incorrect items must be reported within 7 days of delivery

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

8. Preloved Items Disclaimer

As our books are preloved:

• Minor cosmetic wear may be present

• This does not constitute a fault

• Refunds are not issued for general signs of prior use

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, branding, and design — is the property of Second Bloom Books and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without prior written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses

• Our liability is limited to the value of the product purchased

• We are not responsible for personal dissatisfaction beyond what is covered by consumer law

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.

We are not responsible for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including (but not limited to) postal delays, supply issues, natural events, or system outages.
